1st Trimester Feeling and Emotions

The first trimester I feel is one of the hardest. I think it’s one of the hardest because it is the trimester of change. Every thing in your body is changing, especially your emotions. Now since this is my 3rd pregnancy I was aware of my 1st trimester feelings and emotions. I was able to recognize when I am picking a fight, and when I was just completely unhappy with everything in life. I remember fighting with my husband around the same with my last pregnancies. Fortunately, this time I was able to stop myself and apologize, and let him know I know this is the pregnancy. Fighting takes so much energy and creates so much stress not for just you and your partner but the baby and kids around.

During the 1st trimester my hips and body changed. Some people get these feeling later in the pregnancy. I felt my back more and this time around I have episodes of sciatica with numbness and tingling down my left leg. I did some research myself and it is called Meralgia paresthetica. Meralgia paresthetica is numbness, tingling and burning pain in your outer thigh. They say is from compression of the nerve that provides feeling to your outer thigh.

After talking to my MD, they said it is most likely from my belly. Unfortunately my belly is not going anywhere any time soon lol. But I can do stretches that may help, but as for now the plan in physical therapy to make sure I do proper exercises that actually help not make things worse.

Pregnancy is different for everyone and this is just an example of things I am going through during my 1st trimester. I know I have a lot of depression and have a lot of emotions and feelings, and sometimes is hard to get off your chest. Pregnancy just enhances everything. My number one advice is just to communicate with your partner. Let them know what’s going on with you on the inside, so they can be there for you the way you need them to be. Men cannot read your mind and have no idea the changes you are going through. Pregnancy is a beautiful thing and it’s a blessing, so try to make it the best experience possible.
